Welcome to the new NY/IABC for 2009 and to the new NY/IABC Web site. The site represents NY/IABC’s renewed commitment to excellence in corporate communication, along with public relations, marketing, media relations and investor relations, the key communication specialties in and around New York City, the world’s media capital.
We welcome professionals from those areas as we all face the economic crisis and the communication, professional and networking challenges it presents. 2009 is fraught with danger or with opportunity, depending on how you look at it. NY/IABC sees it as an opportunity to communicate more effectively than ever before to internal and external audiences. Toward that goal, for 2009 and beyond NY/IABC’s programs and networking events will meet members’ professional development needs.
A professional association like NY/IABC is only as effective, active and responsive as its members. We invite NY/IABC members to volunteer for programming, membership or special events committees. Contact NY/IABC President Bob Noltenmeier at (212) 992-3353 or at rfn1@nyu.edu to discuss your interests and ideas. If you’re a prospective member, feel free to call Bob Noltenmeier or to contact NY/IABC Membership Chair Rob Drasin by e-mail at rob.drasin@tridentcommunicationsllc.com to discuss your needs and expectations and how you can help the chapter.
If you’re already a member, plan to attend NY/IABC events and to volunteer for a committee. If you’re a prospective member, I invite you to attend an event at the member rate* to see how NY/IABC can support you as a professional communicator and to get to know us. You’ll be glad you did.
For now, here’s to opportunities! See you at upcoming NY/IABC events. Feel free to call me or to send me an e-mail in the meantime.
All the best,

Robert F. Noltenmeier
NY/IABC President
P.S. You’ll find the board of governors and chapter administrator information under Contacts.
* Prospective NY/IABC members may attend one NY/IABC program or event at the member rate. |
