PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER
Robert K. Futterman & Associates, the leading retail real estate firm in the US, is seeking a Public Relations Manager for its New York headquarters office. The individual will be a member of a marketing team that supports a variety of corporate and client marketing and communications initiatives. The ideal candidate will be creative, self starter with a proven tack record of effectively managing and pitch local, regional, and national print and electronic media.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage strategic media relations programs.
  • Cultivate, strengthen and maintain relationships with key local, regional and national journalists from retail, real estate and general business media.
  • Develop compelling story angles and pitch to print, broadcast and web media.
  • Remain abreast of key industry developments and trends for media placement opportunities.
  • Write clear and compelling pitch letters, press releases and by-line articles; managing internal and external approval processes, as well as maintaining the company press web site.
  • Respond to press inquiries and coordinate interviews for firm business professionals.
  • Identify and pursue strategic writing and speaking opportunities for senior members of firm.
  • Write communications and marketing materials as needed.

Requirements:

  • Successful candidate must possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills and be able to juggle many assignments under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in the commercial real estate industry a must.
  • Bachelors degree in Journalism, English or Communications.
  • 5 to 7 years experience at a PR agency and/or within a corporate environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and problem-solve.
